My First Review

Andy over at Andy’s Reviews did a nice little write-up on Jiggle Balls today.  Thanks Andy.  You have a great blog going there.

The Balls Are Barely Jiggling

Well… it’s been about 54 hours since JIGGLE BALLS hit the App Store.  I’m a little disappointed by the numbers.  It’s causing me to rethink my marketing strategy.  I’m going to start work on version 2.0 (unless I need a 1.1, but I haven’t heard of any problems).  I will then release it (upgrading those who already bought this version) and simultaneously release a lite version.  This seems to be the growing trend.

At any rate… I’m glad I didn’t spend months and months in development.  My big goal here was to navigate through the obstacles and make it to the App Store.  I think for $1 I’ve provided a fun little App, but I do want to do more.  Had I done all the work up front would the story be any different?  I don’t think so.  I think the key is having a lite version.  Without being able to see it first no one really wants to fork over the $$$.  It sounds like you get about a 10% conversion rate, so that would be great.  The story seems to be consistent across the board for individual developers, except for the rare exceptions like iShoot (and unfortunately iFart).  I suppose companies with marketing budgets are fairing a little bit better.

Anyway… look for Jiggle Balls 2.0 in the coming months.  If you’d like to help me out, buy the app and give me a good rating on the App Store.  I’d appreciate it.
